No. The full directory works in any browser. The free app adds the toolkit (trail maps, GPS tracking, wildfire watch, and waypoints) when you're out in the field.

We seed listings from public data, so many guides and outfitters are already here. Guides can claim their listing (or add a new one if it isn’t here) free, then subscribe for a booking-ready website and operator cockpit.

Partly, and we would rather be straight about which parts. GPS tracking and waypoints keep recording with no bars at all, and everything you log syncs when you return to coverage. Map tiles you have already loaded stay on screen, but there is no download-this-area button yet, so a valley you have never opened will not draw. Downloadable maps are on the way.
